Newsletter #103 for July 2024

DecentralizedWastewater.org Has Launched!

Our new sister site, DecentralizedWastewater.org, launched earlier this summer. This site provides training and technical assistance resources to wastewater professionals, onsite system owners, and managers of centralized and onsite/decentralized wastewater systems. It hosts wastewater training documents, a calendar of training events, a regular webinar series, and more.

Many properties with private wells also use septic systems, so some of the work of the Private Well Class and DecentralizedWastewater.org will go hand in hand. If relevant for your work, you can sign up for the new site's monthly newsletter, and contact our team at info@decentralizedwastewater.org with questions or comments.

Pennsylvania family gets clean water through donation

WTAJ

In November 2023, the well of the Godin family of Somerset County, PA, stopped producing sufficient water. For several months, the family of seven had to drive 50 miles roundtrip to fill up 30-40 jugs of water two times a week. After applying for a loan to fix their well through the Water Well Trust, the family's well repair ended up fully funded by Xylem, which works to solve domestic water issues as part its social responsibility program.
