U.S. EPA's Upcoming Water Workforce Webinar

"Have you wanted to increase the connection between your utility and the schools in your community? Do you want to teach your local students about the work you do and the importance of water and wastewater services your utility provides? Ever hoped that you could recruit your next amazing operator from your local high school? Find out how to build these learning and career pipelines for your system!"

This free webinar will showcase a program led by the Environmental Finance Center (EFC) at Wichita State University, in collaboration with multiple EFCs. This initiative aims to create a national network of career guidance counselors who will connect students with career exploration opportunities in the water industry. These counselors will utilize a toolkit of resources developed by Wichita State, along with other educational materials, to engage elementary, middle, and high school students. The goal is to help them grasp fundamental water treatment concepts and discover rewarding careers in the water treatment sector.

This webinar will highlight the following resources and tools: The Educator’s Resource Hub, The Counselor’s Guide to Great Water Careers, and other valuable resources that help utility professionals connect with local students.

Private Well Conference Recordings

In May 2025, our sister site, PrivateWellClass.org, hosted the 2025 Private Well Conference in Bloomington-Normal, IL. This conference served as a national workshop that united the private well community and emphasized the importance of collaboration and partnerships.

All of the sessions were recorded and are now available on YouTube.

The presentations at this event were specifically geared for practitioners. The speakers provided information and insights that can be taken home and used locally with individual well owners. Most of the outreach and education work with well owners is done on a local scale and this conference was geared to support the thousands of professionals who work with well owners every day.

Attendees of this conference included: health department staff, lab personnel, cooperative extension educators, well drillers, environmental health professionals, researchers, and private well stakeholders.
