|
We are excited to announce that we have begun putting the finishing touches on DecentralizedWastewater.org, and it will be launching before you know it!
When the website goes live, it will provide training and technical assistance to wastewater professionals, onsite system owners, and managers of centralized and onsite/decentralized wastewater systems. We will host thousands of wastewater training documents, a calendar of training events, a regular webinar series, and more.
As a reminder, if you are seeking documents and events right away, you can check to see what is currently listed on the WaterOperator.org Documents Library and Event Calendar. Existing decentralized wastewater information will continue to be available on WaterOperator.org.
This newsletter will continue to be sent out monthly. If you were forwarded this email — sign up for the distribution list here! And check out the January, February, and March editions.
Please feel free to contact us at info@decentralizedwastewater.org if you have any comments, would like us to find something for you, or have information that will help other onsite/decentralized wastewater operators, installers, inspectors, and owners. We look forward to assisting you at DecentralizedWastewater.org! |

Malfunctioning septic systems can contaminate groundwater and surface water, potentially posing a public health threat to both individuals and the environment. As such, the CDC maintains a collection of onsite/decentralized wastewater resources for environmental health professionals. You'll find guides to treatment systems, a septic outreach toolkit, environmental public health courses, wastewater publications, and more.

Green Infrastructure 101
April 18, 2024 | 1:00 pm EDT | Environmental Finance Center Network
Green Infrastructure (GI) is critical to addressing urgent and interrelated water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure challenges. GI has not, however, been widely adapted in U.S. municipalities — particularly in small, rural, and tribal communities — due to political barriers, misconceptions, and lack of knowledge or resources to successfully implement GI. In this introductory webinar, EFCN will kick off a 10-part series with an overview of basic GI concepts, terminology, and funding sources; as well as challenges and opportunities facing communities and practitioners in the field of GI.
