Registration is still open for this August's Annual Educational Conference & Exhibition (AEC) hosted by the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA)! This year's AEC will be held from August 3-6, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center.
This conference is an annual opportunity for the brightest minds in environmental health to connect and strengthen the professional field. Our sister program, The Private Well Class, will be in attendance with a booth in the exhibit hall and the presentation "What's In Your Well Water: Determining What Contaminants to Test For" on Wednesday, August 5, at 9 am. NEHA continuing education credit, while available for environmental health professionals who attended live, is not available for watching the recording. The content is also appropriate for homeowners looking to learn more about their septic systems. Each past session of "Septic Systems 101" is also available to watch at any time. |

For the second episode of Tap Talk Season 7, we welcomed Katie Maegli of Water Quality Investigations to Tap Talk! WQI is a private water testing lab in southern Wisconsin, where Katie serves as the lab’s microbiologist with specializations in buildings’ water systems and Legionella management. This conversation dives deep into Legionella; from where the bacteria is commonly found, the regulatory guidelines that help reduce Legionella risk, the actions individuals can take to avoid Legionella growth in their wells, health impacts from Pontiac fever and Legionnaires’ disease, and the complexities of accurate testing of Legionella.
